PSU was the first generally accessible narrative of the State University of New York from its inception in 1847 as the Free Academy to its present status as the largest urban university in Plattsburgh, New York. In 1905, representatives from the Kings Mountain and Sandy Run Baptist Associations voted to create a high school in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
